I report to Sean Liston, as well Devin O'Connell, Josh Bullock, Carmella Wassmer, and all of our Sales & Service team. In addition to Corporate Partnerships, I also answer to David Egles and Jamie Patterson of Community Relations.
Duties
Daily, my tasks include: sitting in on official department meetings, calls and business, cleaning and maintaining department areas, providing assistance in all aspects of event planning, and helping as needed. During the regular season, my co-intern Kim and I are in charge of capturing photographic evidence of sponsorship activation game-by-game as well as greeting and activating VIP partner guests for our department and rotating any static signage that requires rotating.
Learning objectives
For the duration of the internship, I hope to learn what it takes to operate the corporate partnerships of a Major League Baseball team as well as the duties and responsibilities there in. The goal of the internship is to walk away more ready and able to take on these kinds of responsibilities myself in a role not unlike this. My goals are in community relations and minor league sports, but this role has opened my eyes to some new possiblities.
Compensation
I am paid $9.00 and hour, plus time-and-a-half for anything over 40 hours. I receive benefits per the Affordable Care Act. I also get compensated game tickets, access to team gym facilities, team wellness program,
