Today, was a very slow Monday after a very exciting Super Bowl. Add to that the annual Gasparilla festival and parade was in town this weekend, and folks are moving a little slow around the office. I started the day like every other with some light bookwork and computer time. Bookwork, in case you're wondering has been made up of making sure 10 years of partners' contracts are properly digitized and then once they are digitized, shredding the hard copies. Very laborious, very tedious, but necessary work around the office. Reminds a guy what he's working for.
- Later, Joe Ciaravino graciously invited Rachel Sloot and I to sit in on his 2015 introductory call with returning partner IDP. They are an area jeweler who was with us last year. Good intro meeting, with some new budgetary hurdles to overcome. But both sides are interested in continuing the partnership and we ended the call on a good note, offering to draw up some ideas and proposals that might suit IDP and to get those back to them.
- I sat in on a meeting to brainstorm ideas for a potential partnership between the Rays and area Taco Bell locations. We were looking to come up with creative ways to tie Taco Bell in with our in-game product including video board displays, interactive fan activations, and all sorts of wacky ideas. It was actually really fascinating to see how the sausage is made. We came up with a lot of useful things, myself included, to pitch back to the partner.
- To end the day, I and a team from our department spent a couple hours emptying the jerseys for our Coaches Clinic from the seemingly endless number of boxes they came in from the manufacturer. This process went pretty well all told, considering we are hand separating 5400 jerseys. It was a total team effort with interns and managers alike working together to make the process go faster.
