Tuesdays always feel more official because we have a weekly interdepartmental meeting where some big news or updates happen. The big news today was that the Rays Mobile Studio (nicknamed the "Neilmobile" after broadcaster Neil Solondz) was on-site and ready for viewing! So we of course snuck away and checked it out:
Today I had some added assignments popping up on tp of the usual meeting.
For starters, I was given the assignment of helping Jake with his partner FDOT (Florida Dept of Transportation) with the activation of their partnership. It would seem that FDOT has some new red tape and bureaucracy to cut through for this season with some online web-based application. Jake wanted me to try to squeeze it into my schedule versus tying up his more precious time. After some back and forth with emails to our finance department, it is on the backburner for now as proper information is stil required.
Jake also picked me to be his official go-to intern or right-hand man for his Papa Johns account. That felt very special because it was the first time I was chosen above my peers with the Rays to do team business. A small part of me wrote that one down for posterity for the end of the season when I need all the brownie points I can hold on to.
Then we got the real fun assignment (over which I had a brief panic attack). Both Kim and I were tasked with creating recpas for our participating '15 Fan Fest sponsors. These digital documents can be sent or printed and presented in person to reinforce for the partners just what value they got our of partnering with the Rays for such a unique and successful event. We have 5 partners to complete and I chose the Tampa Bay Times to start with. It was slow going but I am mostly pleased with my results.
