Today proved to be an excited day.
I kept quite busy. I sat in on two calls. The first was with Jake for a service we subscribe to called Agile Media. They create recap videos of our game tv coverage to quantify the dollar value of the signage our partners purchase in the stadium (as in how much it gets seen on screen and how much in turn those "impressions" equal eyes and dollars). It's a fascinating service and we are only the third MLB team to use it.
We also had a meeting scheduled to go over the Little League Initiative this season and try to improve for next year. Kim, David, Sean and I all had mostly positive things to say and only minor critiques to make. There are flaws to the process but I have faith they will be ironed out for next year.
Then I sat in with Sean for Majestic's conference call with almost all 30 MLB teams regarding National Jersey Day. As part of their launch of the new Cool Base jersey and after the success of the test run last year, Majestic is partnering with MLB clubs to promote National Jersey Day. On Friday May 22 or May 29 (depending on the team) clubs will be promoting wearing your MLB jerseys with pride to support your team and sport. Teams are encouraged to reward fans for support, drive promotion with social media and in-game content and have fun! It's still in its infancy but it sounds like fun.
I also had a task of combing through the headshots of our players to find arguably the 12 best players (as provided to me on a list) for a project on which we work with the Tampa Bay Times. It sounds easy but the headshots are unmarked and their are 60 similar looking young men all standing the same way, smiling and wearing ballcaps. It became quite the challenge to pick them out, so it crept into Friday.
