Today was another busy day. They are so strangely bunched sometimes. For example today, at one point, Kim and I were in one way or another asked to do or be doing at least 5 separate tasks of equal importance for our sales & service team!
I was still working on my Tampa Bay Times recap, which I finished midday. I also still was working on the FDOT application. Then Kim took the reins on a job where we had to print 3000 colors copies of ads for our season ticket holder inserts. That's a very not-green job. At that same time, Sean asked me and he other stat-head in the immediate office Mr. Saco himself, Chris, to try to compile for our partner Kaufmann Tire how many home runs have been hit both home and away by Rays hitters since the 2005 season. This is an immense task without the right tools! I tried to do it the old fashioned way by going through old box scores day by day by day. This was tiring. Thankfully, I said something to my Broadcasting Coordinator Jordan and he quickly pulled up some very important stats from baseball-reference.com
Then came the real fun because our department is allocated annually an allotment of autographed player baseballs, bats, and jerseys to be given to partners through their agreements. It was our job of organizing and distributing them today. Sounds ok, right? Well when one partner alone needed 34 dozen balls, it gets tough. You see depicted below just some of the mess that took over our area and our afternoon. In the end it was a fun experience and we learned a bit. Our partners use these donations for all sorts of things and they really enjoy them.
